During a tutorial battle at the beginning of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Goombella offers to be Mario's opponent to help demonstrate some attacks. It is not normally possible to defeat Goombella no matter how many times Mario attacks her, as internally, her HP is set to 99 and is constantly recovered between rounds.
However, if the game is hacked to remove the recovery, it is possible to kill Goombella. She awards 1 Star Point for defeating her. Doing this ends the tutorial and the game proceeds normally from that point.
